Be the Difference in a Young Person’s Life Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast is seeking a mission-driven, relationship-focused Mentor Manager to support youth mentoring matches in Manatee County . This role guides volunteers, youth, and families through enrollment, thoughtful matching, and ongoing match support to ensure safe, meaningful, and sustainable mentoring relationships. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, Sociology, Counseling, or a related field required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting quality and performance metrics.
  • Commitment to positive youth development.
  • Proficiency with documentation and data management systems.
  • Ability to manage site-based programs at partner locations, including driving to and from, organizing activities, and interacting with site location staff to ensure group goals are met.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in case management, youth services, nonprofit programs, education, or social services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enrollment & Matching Conduct interviews and assessments with volunteers, youth, and parents/guardians.
  • Facilitate high-quality, strengths-based mentor/mentee matches.
  • Maintain an active caseload aligned with performance goals.
  • Encourage rematch opportunities and sustained volunteer engagement when appropriate.
  • Case Management & Match Support Provide ongoing strengths-based case management and match supervision.
  • Conduct structured support contacts to ensure match safety, health, and progress.
  • Identify challenges early and implement proactive intervention strategies.
  • Develop and update Youth Development Outcome Plans (YODP).
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the agency’s data system.
  • Escalate safety concerns in accordance with mandatory reporting requirements and agency policy.
  • Collaboration & Community Engagement Deliver exceptional customer service to volunteers, youth, and families.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support volunteer recruitment efforts and participate in community outreach and agency events.
