A MEP Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage and coordinate the MEP systems and subcontractors such that a quality engineered product is designed, constructed, and delivered to the customer in accordance with the project schedule. Responsible for reviewing and coordinating the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, piping, and fire protection design and installation for construction projects. These duties fall into three phases: (1) Pre-construction design review and coordination (e.g. review contract documents, uncover and resolve discrepancies, challenge and verify designs, coordinate shop drawings and MEP trades with general construction; (2) Monitoring of construction installation, field coordination and problem solving (e.g. monitor construction progress and quality control, monitor and document system testing, verify rough-in locations, resolve on-going coordination issues, including equipment, valve, damper, access and serviceability); (3) Project completion, including startup, testing, and acceptance (e.g. review startup and acceptance requirements, coordinate the development of a commissioning plan and review with the owner and outside agencies, prepare and manage MEP Punch Lists, and coordinate system training and turn over) Serves as a general resource to project personnel.
