About The Position
WGEM is looking for our next Meteorologist to join our team. If you have a passion for weather and a natural aptitude to share information about meteorology with the public, this position is for you! Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to): - Prepare and present television weather forecasts and web content. - Creatively use weather graphics systems. - Maintain a positive newsroom atmosphere and adhere to professional standards. - Substitute as needed on other weather segments. - Work as a guide to outside groups touring the station. - Attend editorial meetings with news staff throughout the day. - Coordinate and deliver weather forecasts for radio partners, if applicable. - Be on-call as needed during severe weather activity. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in meteorology or similar certification.
- Ability to effectively communicate through written and spoken forms.
- Able to take initiative and work independently.
- Driver's license required
