About The Position

Forge ahead with WSB. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Meter Inspection Technician to support gas meter inspection and corrosion prevention activities in the East Texas
areas. This is a field-based role ideal for candidates who enjoy working outdoors and want stable, full-time work with a respected consulting firm. This is a contract role with a duration of 6-12 months and is a great opportunity for future permanent positions!

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to walk long distances and perform physical work
• Comfortable using a smartphone for photos and documentation

Nice To Haves

• Prior utility, construction, or inspection experience is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of above-ground gas meters and piping
• Identify signs of corrosion or coating damage
• Document inspection results using a company-provided mobile application
• Perform basic remediation work such as cleaning, wire brushing, and painting
• Report potential gas leaks and follow safety protocols
• Travel locally to residential and commercial meter locations
