About The Position

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the installation, diagnosis, field and shop servicing, replacement, repair and calibration of large-scale residential, industrial and commercial water meters; makes field investigations and site evaluations; drives and operates tanker trucks; and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Two years of increasingly responsible general maintenance experience in potable water production, treatment, storage and distribution involving meters and/or other mechanical systems; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Be skilled in troubleshooting complex problems in the distribution/meter system.
• Have the ability to work in and comfortable working in tight/enclosed spaces.
• Must have experience in meter reading as well as the replacement of a large variety of water meter sizes; be skilled in troubleshooting complex problems in the distribution/meter system;
• A valid Nevada Class A drivers license with tanker endorsement within six months of date of employment and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's Vehicle Insurance Policy.
• Required to pass the physical testing for respiratory protection
• graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent

Nice To Haves

• A Class A CDL and Water Distribution Grade 1 are highly desirable or within six months of date of employment.
