About The Position

US Farathane is seeking a 2nd Shift Mezzanine Team Lead. The position is responsible t or providing proper training and coaching to all the mezzanine operators with emphasis on safety. The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the proper material is delivered to the cell/area to achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety to assure internal and external customer satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures. Maintain and fulfill housekeeping requirements. Address and take immediate action on all Safety related issues and escalate to your supervisor! Communicate with preceding and oncoming Mezz Team Lead. Review entire work area, priorities, housekeeping and all safety concerns and overall condition of area. Check availability and order necessary materials from warehouse to maintain molding schedule, executing material transactions properly. Review possible material shortage conditions with preceding and oncoming Team Lead. Notify supervisor of material shortage conditions immediately. Participate in shift meetings, problem solving activities, and improvement efforts. Maintain material logs recording necessary material components and lot numbers as required per plant procedures to ensure material traceability. During job set up, review the schedule to ensure correct material/component usage. For material changeovers, clean & clear drying material, bin hoppers, receivers, grinders, and hoses to ensure that previous materials are removed and material contamination does not occur – use air hose provided. Clean and properly identify all material to ensure the necessary transaction documentation is executed when returning material to storage, this includes regrind. Set up materials to properly pre-dry ahead of material changeovers. Blend colors, additives per scheduled requirements. Maintain necessary material levels at feed bins to ensure non-interrupted flow of material to molding, must always keep hoppers full. Provide virgin material for molding machine changeovers to meet molding schedule. This requires loading material and drying bins. Maintain FIFO, (First In- First Out) always. Maintain proper identification of all materials in the central feed area and individual machines. Perform necessary moisture testing of materials per internal and customer requirements. Monitor moisture read outs using touch screens. Monitor and control the required settings and dryer temperatures using touch screens. Monitor and control the required material settings for bin temperature using touch screens. Perform Preventative Maintenance as required. Create Work Orders when needed and inform supervisor of Work Order. Clean, change as necessary, dryer, canister and receiver filters. See Standard Work on frequency. Monitor job material usage using equipment monitors. Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, employee policy guide, Level II procedures, etc.) All gaylords\boxes with material MUST be covered at all times to avoid contamination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities
