About The Position

The Chemistry Radwaste and Environmental Manager is responsible for the daily operation of Hope Creek Chemistry Operations, Radwaste and Environmental aspects, including project, plan, & execute plant chemistry actions necessary to support long term asset protection under steady state and transient plant conditions.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related science and minimum 10 years experience in Chemistry, of which 1 year shall be in radiochemistry, is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in an operating nuclear power plant is also required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Meet and maintain Nuclear’s requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this job.
  • Some positions at PSEG require access to information covered by the Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 (Part 810). If applicable, the successful applicant must prove they are: (1) a citizen or national of the USA; OR (2) a lawful permanent resident of the United States (Non-Conditional Permanent I-551 / Green Card / Permanent Resident Card holder); OR (3) a citizen, national, or permanent resident of a “Generally Authorized” destination on the attached list not also a citizen, national, permanent resident of any country not listed; OR (4) a “Protected Individual” under the Immigration and Naturalization Act (8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of first line supervisors and represented employees
  • Administering Chemistry, and environmental programs
  • Ensuring compliance with State & Federal requirements
  • Evaluation of work flow and processes to increase performance and efficiency
  • Interfacing with Station Work Management/Planning in the planning & scheduling of chemistry-related activities
  • Performing self-assessment and corrective action/root cause evaluations.
  • Ensure work activities meet and exceed the requirements and standards established in 10CFR20, related Regulatory Guides, and INPO Good Practices Guidelines
  • Managing the industrial relations of the group, including performance management
