About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree:
  • Two years related experience and/or training;
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations required.
  • Ability to work in a drug free environment and pass a chemical dependency test as required.
  • Ability to understand the safety features and the operation of the revolver.
  • Ability to walk, stand 80% of the time, bend, push, pull, climb stairs, and run.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion.
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be physically fit to open doors, protect the guest, the employee, and the assets of the casino.
  • Responsible for adherence to health, fire and safety regulations identify potential safety hazards and reports such to the appropriate personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Train, supervise, and evaluate personnel attitudes and abilities.
  • Interact with all guests and team members in a professional manner.
  • Assign workstations and department radios as required.
  • Interact with local law enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Promotes understanding of and compliance with all procedures essential to effective control within the organization.
  • Conveys the intent and spirit of orders and directives to subordinates.
  • Responsible for proper execution of job duties in the absence of the Manager of Security.
  • Ensure all employees under supervision fully understand their duties and perform them completely and promptly in compliance with the company policies.
  • Assist, develop and monitors achievements of long and short-term goals.
  • Assists in the preparation of annual security budgets.
  • Maintains and up-to-date inventory of equipment within the Security Department.
  • Supervises and maintains continuity of communications at the security control podium.
  • Conduct daily inspections and briefing of all uniformed officers assigned to the shift approximately thirty minutes prior to the beginning of the shift. (briefing includes but not limited to reports, procedures, photos, memos etc.)
  • Ensure that all emergency equipment is functioning properly at the beginning of the shift, (i.e., First Aid, Oxygen, Wheelchairs, etc.)
  • Ensure all officers regardless of situation, maintain proper radio procedure.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Responsible for adherence to health, fire and safety regulations identify potential safety hazards and reports such to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure proper coverage of personnel during work shifts, breaks and lunches.
  • Ensure that proper procedures are followed on the notification of all major instances including crimes, major liability on the part of the casino and/or hotel, major injury, death (natural or otherwise), major fire, etc.
  • Handle all Public Relations calls.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed on all investigative reports.
  • Support and maintain Horseshoe Casino’s courtesy guidelines
  • Promote outstanding guest relations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
