The Mid-level Database Administrator is responsible for the stability, security, monitoring and performance of the database platform. Serves as lead and technical point of contact for customers and associated members of the Engineering and Development team. Local Candidates Only Hybrid schedule: 3 days in Ashburn, VA office with 2 days remote. Install, configure, and upgrade database software (SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.) Conduct hands on engineering activities across Microsoft database technologies and multiple system administration technologies. Manage database backup jobs, capacity, planning, and storage growth. Implement data archiving, retention and purging policies. Provide and/or support the development of technical documentation related to any support, training and transitioning. Participate in disaster recovery planning/testing. Tune queries, indexes and stored procedures for better performance. Demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills, while working effectively with customers and Engineering/Development team members. Support engineering and development team in patches, updates & troubleshooting as needed. Implement data archiving, retention and purging policies.
