About The Position

Practices in accordance with Georgia APRN/PA scope of practice laws and in collaboration with a supervising/collaborating physician as required by state law. Job Description Completes comprehensive evaluations of patients scheduled to receive medical services. Consults with physicians about proposed medical treatment options, considerations, and/or requirements. Collaborates with physicians to provide patient services related to diagnosis, identification, and utilization of available resources. Performs advanced nursing functions such as ordering drugs, providing treatments, and conducting diagnostic studies. Selects and assembles pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment required to deliver the proposed medical treatment Administers medical treatments to patients under the physician’s direction. Obtains reviews and/or interprets diagnostic data for patients scheduled to receive medical treatment Performs initial or primary health services including health screenings and preventive services. Assists with risk management, performance improvement, and educational committee and interdepartmental activities that are consistent with integrating Nurse Practitioner services in the employer product line. Participates in credentialing and enrollment activities necessary to provide and bill for clinical services. Plans individual maintenance programs with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention. Plans and develops health education materials for clients, the community, and staff. Serves as a consultant to staff at nursing homes, hospitals, and retirement homes Participates in community health education activities Participates in ongoing assessments and performance improvement. Participates in the development of policies, revision of policies, and amends policies when applicable. Performs all other job-related duties as requested Comprehensive well-woman exams Routine prenatal care within scope and training; high-risk prenatal care in collaboration with OB/GYN as clinically appropriate. Provides direct evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to residents in skilled nursing facilities in accordance with federal and state regulations governing advanced practice providers. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements. Complies with incident-to, split/shared, and skilled nursing facility billing regulations as applicable. Participates in credentialing, enrollment, and privileging activities. Meets established productivity benchmarks (visit volume and/or wRVU targets as determined by the organization). Participates in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives. Supports regulatory survey readiness and compliance activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
  • Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current BLS certification. (Must obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Women’s Health certification is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner is preferred but not required.
  • Additional languages preferred.
