Requirements

  • A strong understanding of Middle School student development and a passion for English, reading, writing, and literature.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern teaching methodologies, instructional techniques, and pedagogical principles.
  • An interest in and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities and a commitment to community and belonging.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of Middle School teaching experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 5 sections of 7th grade English.
  • Create an inviting and engaging classroom culture.
  • Serve as a faculty advisor to assigned students.
  • Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies with technology to meet the needs of students.
  • Provide instructional support to individual and small student groups.
  • Communicate proactively and build relationships with students and families.
  • Collaborate with departmental and divisional colleagues to create engaging lessons and foster a positive school culture.
  • Track student data and uphold high behavioral and academic expectations.
  • Performs other projects and duties as assigned, including proctoring a study hall.
