Role & Responsibilities The Middle School Math Special Education Teacher sits on the Academic Team at Price Middle School, reporting to the principal. This person will drive student results by: Curriculum Development and Instruction (50%) Design and implement a challenging,standard-based curriculum. Create high-quality, differentiated lessons and assessments to meet diverse student needs. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, specially designed instruction (SDI), andresources to engage students and foster a passion for learning. Analyze data to guide instructionalpracticesand offer targeted support to studentswithdisabilities. Provide daily feedback on student performance and tailor plans to address individual learning needs. Adaptinstructionto ensure all students are making progress. Collaborate withGeneralEducation Teachers to ensurestudents’needs are effectively addressed both inside and outside theclassroom, and all IEPs are compliant. School and Classroom Culture (30%) Uphold and promote the school’s values, policies, and culture, while creating a sense of belonging both inside and outside the classroom. Build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members. Foster open and ongoing communication with families, regularly updating them on student progress. Participate in school events such as staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and other community activities. Create a classroom atmosphere that supports learning and is tailored to the developmental needs and interests of students. Growth and Development (20%) Set and strive toward challenging professional goals each year. Engage in giving and receiving both positive and constructive feedback with colleagues.
