Job SummaryHoly Cross Academy seeks a faith-filled, dedicated part- or full-time Middle School Religion Teacher to join our learning community. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, Catholic education, and the spiritual, intellectual, and social development of adolescents. The Religion Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in middle school religion while supporting the mission and values of Holy Cross Academy. This position collaborates closely with colleagues, families, and administration to foster a positive, rigorous learning environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or a related field (required)
  • Active Catechetical Formation and Religion Certification, or the ability to acquire (required)
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; respect for and commitment to Catholic teachings required
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and staff

Nice To Haves

  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification (preferred)
  • Experience teaching middle school religion (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Teach, on a part- or full-time basis, middle school religion (grade 8, or as assigned)
  • Plan and implement lessons aligned with Archdiocesan standards
  • Assist with administrative tasks and formation related to the sacrament of Confirmation
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
  • Integrate technology and hands-on learning strategies
  • Maintain a positive, faith-centered classroom culture
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Support and model Catholic values in all interactions
