About The Position

Queen of Apostles Catholic School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Middle School Teacher (Grades 6–8) to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong subject matter expertise in a core academic area (such as Math, Science, English/Language Arts, or Social Studies, or Religion) and a commitment to engaging early adolescents during a critical stage of their academic and spiritual development. This teacher will foster a classroom environment where students are challenged academically, supported socially, and formed spiritually, while actively contributing to the life of the school community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Experience working with middle school students (grades 6–8), preferably in a Catholic or faith-based setting
  • Strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Queen of Apostles
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and engage diverse learners
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Subject matter expertise in a core academic discipline (preferred)
  • Teaching certification (preferred) or willingness to pursue certification

Responsibilities

  • Teach middle school students (grades 6–8) in a specific content area, delivering rigorous, standards-based instruction.
  • Demonstrate strong subject matter knowledge and the ability to make content engaging, relevant, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction and classroom culture.
  • Lead students in prayer and support their growth in faith and moral development.
  • Create a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom that supports the developmental needs of middle school learners.
  • Foster independence, responsibility, and a love of learning.
  • Work closely with colleagues, including grade-level and subject-area teams, to plan instruction and support student success.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary learning opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents to support student growth and well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and remain current in best practices for middle school education and Catholic instruction.
