About The Position

The Midstream Plant Operator I/II/III is responsible for safely operating and optimizing natural gas processing equipment while ensuring compliance with company policies and environmental regulations. This role involves monitoring plant operations, performing routine maintenance, and supporting pipeline activities to maintain efficient and reliable production. The operator must accurately document operational data, adhere to Process Safety Management (PSM) standards, and contribute to overall plant safety, housekeeping, and regulatory compliance. Working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, the Plant Operator must demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of related work experience in the natural gas industry
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Products
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and research skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision at times
  • Must be a team player, self-motivated with high level of energy and initiative.
  • Degree needed (High school diploma)
  • Willing to work rotating shifts (12 hours) and overtime

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1-3 years of related work experience in the natural gas industry;
  • Knowledge of all facets of natural gas processing and pipeline operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe operating environment; follows all EQT policies and procedures.
  • Optimize processing throughout the facility and maintain proper product specifications.
  • Responds to alarms and problems within the plant and makes appropriate corrections.
  • Spill Prevention Countermeasures and Control (SPCC) reporting and monitoring environmental compliance.
  • Perform general maintenance including changing filters for air, oil etc.
  • Perform Lock out/tag out procedures.
  • Assist with housekeeping and cleanup routines throughout the plant.
  • Safely maintains equipment and supports pipeline operations, including reading/interpreting drawings, supervising equipment, and maintaining operations/technical standards.
  • Understand and comply with environmental regulations and ability to document and report readings as dictated by permit
  • Knowledge of PFD’S, P&ID’S and plot plan
  • Participate in the Plant PSM program. Understand and follow all 14 elements of PSM.
  • Successfully completes assignments as directed and within established timeframes. Accurately documents information as defined and utilize a computerized database for work orders, field data collection, and compliance reporting.
