About The Position

This role plays an important part in how we support customers, enhance our digital services, and strengthen our global operating model. You will contribute to how digital tools enable process improvements, how insights are translated into action, and how our service offering continues to evolve. As a Minerals Digital Process Specialist, you will be part of our Digital Services team, analysing operational data to generate practical insights that improve the performance and reliability of Weir equipment. You will bring a strong understanding of minerals processing, helping internal teams interpret data trends, address process challenges, and support customers in improving uptime, efficiency, and productivity. You will collaborate closely with our global digital community and regional reliability and process teams to ensure our digital solutions reflect real operational needs. When complex process or equipment issues arise, you will work with specialists across the organisation to diagnose root causes and recommend sustainable solutions. You will also contribute to new initiatives in minerals processing, partnering with regional teams to identify opportunities, develop insight-led solutions, and strengthen our digital capabilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in minerals processing, plant operations, or related process environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in asset optimisation and/or process optimisation, supported by relevant qualifications, certifications, and recent hands-on data analysis exposure.
  • Operational or metallurgical experience gained working directly for, or in partnership with, mining operations.
  • Experience delivering operations-focused analytical and methodological support services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with client organisations.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing, in English; proficiency in a second language (Spanish preferred) is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated capability in producing clear, structured, and high-quality technical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the global ‘go-to’ digital specialist for data analysis related to process issues, conditions, anomalies, and debottlenecking across connected and potential customers, providing expert support to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the service operating model (2nd layer of specialist support), delivering high-value insights derived from customer data.
  • Support Industrial IoT Data Analysts (Level 1 in the service operating model) in analysing equipment performance and operational data to resolve customer challenges.
  • Provide process expertise to other business units (including Process Optimization), acting as a consultant to regional teams when required.
  • Ensure business and customer needs are effectively communicated, shared, and aligned with the appropriate specialists, integrating regional and/or technology group expertise when necessary.
  • Work within the Case Management tool to effectively support the IntelliServices team and manage assigned tasks.
  • Define and implement new service offerings leveraging process expertise.
  • Identify and develop case studies related to equipment and process issues, highlighting digital-driven solutions for broader organisational visibility.
  • Contribute innovative ideas within the digital environment to enhance customer satisfaction and continuously improve service delivery.
