About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) Location: Oklahoma City, OK Hours: Monday-Friday 11pm-7am Essential Functions: Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment Responsibilities Responsible for performing routine and non-routine activities pertaining to laboratory testing and the reporting of results; performs moderately difficult to complex tasks; performs assigned analytical testing procedures in an accurate, precise, and timely manner.

Requirements

  • BS in Medical Technology; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical technology
  • 1-year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
  • Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.
  • Must interact with other departments.
  • Contact with clients may be required, good customer service skills are important.
  • Must protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
  • Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
  • Frequent walking and/or standing.
  • May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
