Position Overview: We are seeking a Refrigeration Technician Engineer to provide preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs for Scotsman ice machines across our regional facilities. This mobile position also includes basic building maintenance responsibilities, requiring travel throughout the region to support multiple facility locations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience with commercial ice machines, preferably Scotsman equipment
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling
  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Physical ability to lift 40+ lbs and work in various facility environments
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region

Nice To Haves

  • Scotsman factory training or certification
  • General building maintenance experience
  • Basic HVAC knowledge
  • Trade school background or equivalent technical training
  • Experience working in multi-facility environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on Scotsman ice machines including cleaning, sanitization, and component inspections
  • Troubleshoot ice production issues, water quality problems, and mechanical malfunctions
  • Execute minor repairs such as replacing filters, gaskets, sensors, and other routine components
  • Conduct water system maintenance including descaling and sanitizing procedures
  • Monitor ice machine performance and identify potential issues before they become major problems
  • Maintain detailed service logs and documentation for each unit
  • Coordinate with vendors for major repairs requiring specialized parts or expertise
  • Provide general facility maintenance support including routine repairs and upkeep
  • Perform basic HVAC maintenance tasks such as filter changes and system inspections
  • Handle minor plumbing repairs and maintenance requests
  • Assist with electrical troubleshooting for lighting and basic systems
  • Support facility cleanliness and safety standards
  • Complete routine building inspections and maintenance checklists
  • Travel to multiple facilities throughout the assigned region on a regular schedule
  • Manage efficient routing and scheduling to maximize service coverage
  • Maintain company vehicle and portable tool inventory
  • Respond to urgent service requests across the regional portfolio
  • Provide backup support for facility emergencies when available
