About The Position

We are seeking a self-starting Mobile Trailer Technician with comprehensive experience in all aspects of trailer repair. This role involves regular travel to customer and prospective client locations, requiring adherence to all road signs and safe vehicle operation within limits and weather conditions. Compliance with all auto and equipment safety rules and regulations is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a trailer technician or similar role, minimum 2-5 years.
  • Experience in collision repair, including dry and refrigerated vans, structure, roll & swing doors, interiors, exteriors, ceilings, and roof repairs.
  • Certifications in Lighting, Electrical, Brake, Lift-gate, and/or Welding.
  • Must be over 21 years of age and maintain a valid Driver's License for company driving.
  • You will need to work independently and possess a strong work ethic to meet the demands of this role.
  • The ability to adapt to different work environments and effectively communicate with customers and team members is crucial for success in this position

Responsibilities

  • Perform trailer preventive maintenance, BIT, and DOT Inspections.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair of lighting and electrical systems, including diagnosing and isolating shorts and open circuits.
  • Execute air brake inspections and repairs, including overhauls, measuring brake lining thickness, servicing drums and S Cams, adjusting brakes, and replacing S Cams, bushings, slack adjusters, relay valves, and air tanks.
  • Perform rail and lift-gate maintenance, including adjusting hydraulic gate platforms and controls, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and replacing rail cables, cylinders, motors, pumps, and relays.
  • Weld and replace suspension components and landing legs.
  • Perform miscellaneous related duties as required and assigned by the manager.
