About The Position

Ability to operate a Mold In Cut to Length production line following established Standard Operating Procedures. Adhere and maintain quality standards and a clean work area. Complete necessary paperwork or computer work, and perform other duties as assigned. Maintain established production standards.

Requirements

  • Two years manufacturing and/or related machine operation experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret written instruction; complete basic paperwork and perform data entry.
  • Ability to maneuver Hook/M97 rolls (up to 35 lbs.) manually throughout the shift.
  • Ability to use a computer and navigate web based screens, and complete basic data entry into designated fields.
  • Experience using Oracle based data management systems or other similar programs.

Promptly reports any safety incidents or near-misses to the appropriate personnel and contributes to the investigation process. Active participation in safety-related programs and initiatives is required as necessary. This includes involvement in the safety committee on a rotating schedule, as well as participation in Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change management activities.
  • Operate Mold-in lines, which laminates various raw materials together and cuts to a specified length, while ensuring 100% on time delivery and highest quality as required by our automotive customers. Line consists of PLC (Human Interface) Computer, Hook Cutter, Ultrasonic welders, un-coilers, lamination stations, indexing units, and cut to length station.
  • Perform duties by following established written procedures, such as starting up and shutting down and basic maintenance of line components.
  • Carry out all written and/or verbal instructions, as assigned by Supervisor/Lead.
  • Make up and label boxes/totes as required, seal boxes with tape when complete, place or tape part on box/tote and place on conveyor or other.
  • Organize all necessary materials (Raw and WIP) on a continuous basis to ensure that line are constantly running.
  • Inspect all raw materials prior to processing. Mark and Cut out defective materials (joins [HTH / M97], start- up sections).
  • Feed raw materials into machine and ensure that it remains flat, no twists or fold-overs.
  • Continuously patrol the Mold-in line during production. Check for non-conformance as outlined in documentation. Monitor cutting to ensure consistent lengths of each piece.
  • Take S.P.C. samples, measure the length of each, and record the required information. Maintain S.P.C. traceability records.
  • Carry out all required testing of product.
  • Complete changeovers for various sizes and adjust as necessary (flats, glue spray, curl, tension, etc…)
  • Join ends of materials by heat sealing or with masking tape to ensure continuous running of the machine.
  • Clean line daily (cutter die/knife, all sensors/eye, surface clean flat areas, remove garbage).
  • Notify Supervisor/Lead/Maintenance of faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions. Record downtime information.
  • Ensure established quality standards are maintained for all produced product lines. Observe prescribed safety rules and regulations. Safety Footwear, Hearing Protection and Safety Glasses are mandatory on the lines.
  • Keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Place all waste / recyclable materials in the proper containers/bins.
  • Follow established Quality Control and Department procedures. Follow production order and production control sheets to ensure proper physical characteristics such as tolerances, sealed ends, bulk package, etc.
  • Responsible for reducing and minimizing waste and ensuring the correct disposal of recyclable materials. Following the action plans developed from the environmental objectives and targets as required.
  • Familiarity with Quality (ISO/TS16949, ISO90001) and Environmental Standards (ISO14001).
  • Full time presence required
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as required or requested, including extended shifts and weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to be cross trained in other functions as required or requested
  • Required to perform other duties, as assigned and directed
