About The Position

Team leader for Designing, developing, and enhancing chassis systems and accessories for chassis group Track the Project status to target and escalate issues to management as required Developing design documents for chassis and engine systems parts and final products (DAP) Design and develop new suspension lift kits and lowering kits across various Stellantis platforms Define new chassis components required for lift kits based on package studies and suspensions travels Design and develop exterior/chassis accessories to meet product requirements and business case inputs (includes rock rails, rock rail w/power steps, on-board compressors, enhanced spare tire carriers, hitch prep, wheels, Air induction systems, exhaust, axles, drive line and other varies Chassis and engine system components Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and FMVSS requirements for vehicle systems and integration Good knowledge of APQP process with regular team follow-ups to ensure on-time delivery of a quality launch Prepare the Feasibility Review, Technical review, & process documents for review Release Source Packages based on the Product requirements and business case inputs Develop DVP requirements for the service parts and accessory components and systems Manage supplier to complete component DVP testing and coordinate vehicle level DVP testing within Mopar Understanding of 3D/2D tolerances and GD&T Understand the vehicle and Product design to support supplier on the design and approval Document all projects relevant Engineering approvals and documents Lessons Learned: Gather historical data on regulatory documents and summarize all Lessons Learned to define corrective actions for next generation product launches Create Best Practices when required to establish the robust process and ensure the product quality Lead team validation trips and offsite validation – Ex.. Moab Utah Vehicle development trip Help with supplier base selection and review of NEW suppliers - Ex.. SEMA trip or onsite supplier reviews Review and sign-off all engineering deliverables as part of phased PPAP process

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in product development or design release experience
  • Experience in vehicle dynamics and suspension design
  • Experience in product development and manufacturing process
  • Design, Functional Integration analysis
  • Intermediate Skill set in NX and Team Center
  • Knowledge of vehicle regulatory specs and requirements
  • Good Knowledge in GD&T concepts & Change Management
  • Vehicle suspension system and vehicle architecture knowledge
  • Component level & system level Testing knowledge
  • Travel on Business needs. 5% - Validation trips and help support marketing events and supplier visits
