JOB SUMMARY: The Mortgage Community Development Lender II partners with local community organizations, residents, and businesses to develop and retain a mortgage lending portfolio, especially in designated regions. This position interviews loan applicants, informs applicants of documentation needed for processing, and monitors the loan process to facilitate timely closings. The Mortgage Community Development Lender II reports to the Division Director of Diverse Mortgage Lending and provides excellent service and support to customers and teammates while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of residential mortgage origination experience
  • Ability to develop business in the targeted market areas
  • Extensive knowledge of all guidelines, laws, and regulations related to mortgage lending
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and networking skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail, critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • High standards for integrity, honesty, professionalism, and work ethic
  • Commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent organization and follow through

Responsibilities

  • Originate quality conventional, FHA, VA, RD, and THDA residential loans based on secondary market guidelines
  • Develop and retain a lending portfolio of mortgage loans, especially in designated regions, meeting with prospects and customers of various size and complexity
  • Responsible for generating production volume based on assigned production goals
  • Partner with local community organizations, residents, and businesses, fostering positive relationships and collaboration
  • Retain and strengthen current relationships and develop new business through various channels
  • Make business calls independently and in collaboration with internal business partners to offer a range of banking products and services
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with customers and prospects. Attend business events. Serve as point of contact for new and existing customers.
  • Interview loan applicants and generate complete loan applications with necessary supporting documentation for submission to processing
  • Monitor the loan process to facilitate timely closings
  • Attend office and bank meetings, as scheduled, providing input and updates on lending activities as required
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional associations
  • Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
  • Attend training and participate in outside community activities, as requested and/or required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
