About The Position

UMB’s mortgage team was established in 2016, with the decision to bring the mortgage product back in-house. UMB’s mortgage team has a wealth of knowledge with many associates who have been in the mortgage field for 10 or more years. Within our mortgage sales team, the Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) will often have a Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant that they work closely with. As a Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant (MLOA), you will work directly under the supervision of the Mortgage Loan Originator. You will work closely with not only the MLO, but with our underwriters, realtors, and our clients. This role is responsible for facilitating the accurate and timely completion of home real estate loan applications by making initial contact and follow-ups with our clients, often serving as the liaison between the client, MLO, and mortgage department operations team. You will gather all the necessary information for new loan underwriting and performing other administrative duties as needed. UMB’s mortgage team acts very much like a second family. Whether someone has a question about a process or needs help getting something completed, the team works collaboratively to make sure the mortgage loan process goes smoothly so we can provide the unparalleled client experience to our clients by taking a team collaborative approach to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met all the way to when our client has the keys in their hands to their new home. How you’ll spend your time: You will use banking and lending knowledge to support the MLO in ensuring that the mortgage loan process goes as smoothly as possible for our clients. You will use organizational and task orientation skills to ensure documents are received and deadlines are met. You will use interpersonal skills to build relationships to attract clients to our mortgage products. You will use communication skills to ensure our clients are aware of the progress of their mortgage loan.

Requirements

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of mortgage-related experience
  • NMLS Registration
