Overview: Originate mortgage loans by developing and maintaining client referral relationships. Assist borrowers in realizing and meeting their financial goals by responsibly advising them throughout the mortgage loan process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At minimum, one year experience in mortgage lending
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and analyze financial information
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Assist mortgage loan borrowers to determine their needs and recommend the most beneficial loan products, while advising and guiding them throughout the entire loan process.
  • Review financial information from borrowers pertaining to Refinance, Purchase, Construction/Rehab, Secondary Market loans, FHA, and VA loans.
  • Knowledgeable in various types of mortgage loans, including FHA and VA loans.
  • Maintain an active knowledge base of all GECU’s loan products and an understanding of the qualifications required of each applicant.
  • Ensure loans meet current secondary market standards along with GECU portfolio guidelines.
  • Prepare initial loan disclosures for borrower review in accordance with federally regulated deadlines.
  • Monitor processing pipeline daily to ensure required documentation is received in a timely manner.
  • Develop relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and sales agents to generate mortgage loans.
  • Maintain the required MLO designation.
  • Must be detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing work responsibilities in an organized manner.
  • Engage in continuing education as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position.
