About The Position

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Technical Inspector repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors. Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Technical Inspector requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent. Identification as a Technical Inspector adds administrative and quality assurance duties to the standard labor category. Administrative duties include aiding Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and/or Quality Manager to ensure services provided are to standard. This is accomplished through inspection of work in progress, work performed, and records. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions. Requirements

  • 5+ years tactical or commercial equipment maintenance experience.
  • Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable Tier-1 Investigation result and obtain and maintain a CAC.
  • Ability to bring and use own tools.
  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification.
  • CDL Preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • U.S. Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent.
