About The Position

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist Advanced to join our team in an exciting, high-impact role. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the opening of the brand-new Kamin Tower, featuring a state-of-the-art intra-operative MRI (iMRI) suite. As one of the primary technologists dedicated to this space, you will play a key role in launching and shaping a cutting-edge perioperative imaging service. Prior to the tower’s opening, you’ll train alongside our established MRI teams at Presbyterian and Montefiore, building strong system-wide collaboration and expertise. We’re looking for a highly skilled, motivated MRI technologist who thrives in advanced clinical environments and is excited to work at the forefront of surgical imaging. In this role, you’ll work closely with neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, OR nurses, radiologists, and technical teams to deliver real-time, high-quality imaging during complex surgical procedures using the iMRIS intra-operative MRI system. Requirements

  • Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT or ARMRIT.
  • 2 years MRI experience required.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion
  • ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) ARRT MR or ARMRIT Certified.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate advanced operation of specialty MRI equipment, including prompt data analysis and completion of quality control activities
  • Respond quickly and accurately to medical editing requests
  • Function independently while supporting off-shifts, on-call responsibilities, and satellite locations as needed
  • Assist in training staff and students
  • Participate in system-wide standardization initiatives and workgroups
  • Collaborate directly with Radiologists on protocol development
  • Partner with Clinical Specialists on QA, regulatory testing, research, and technical initiatives
