About The Position

The MRI Technologist I produces images for medical diagnosis by performing a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Explains procedures to patients/families and assists radiologist in administering medications. May prepare patient for imaging by administering contrast IV and non-IV. Technologists focus on infant, children, and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed. All imaging staff must be able to address family and patient concerns to help facilitate a Family Centered Care approach.

Requirements

  • Newly graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI Program with less than six (6) months clinical experience.
  • Graduate from an approved education program in Radiologic Technology or MRI.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to be a team player; exhibit compassion for the pediatric patient/parents.
  • American Reg Rad Tech - Magnetic Resonance (ARRT-MR) certification is expected to be obtained within 12 months of assuming position
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Venipuncture Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of acute care MRI technologist experience in a pediatric inpatient hospital.
  • Certified Radiologic Tech - CA
  • American Reg Rad Tech - Radiography (ARRT-R).
