About The Position

The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision.  This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results.  The MRI Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet patient care standards.  This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member. This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. Requirements

  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required
  • Licensed by the State of NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for technologists and licensed in Radiography.
  • Registered as American Registry of Radiology Technologist for MRI.
  • Advanced certification from ARRT required within 18 months of passing initial registry or date of training completion.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist or MRI school required.
  • 1-year diagnostic testing experience preferred.
  • Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
  • State License expires end of each year and must be renewed annually to work.
  • ARRT expires on incumbent's date of birth and must be renewed to work.
