About The Position

The MRO Buyer / Crib Attendant is responsible for the sourcing, purchasing, inventory control, and issuance of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials to support plant reliability and production uptime. This role manages day‑to‑day operations of the tool crib, maintains accurate inventory within UpKeep (CMMS), and collaborates cross-functionally using Microsoft Teams for communication and workflow alignment.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with industrial parts, mechanical components, electrical systems, tooling, and PPE.
  • Experience supporting maintenance planning, preventive maintenance, or reliability engineering.
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier management, and inventory optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory‑control principles (cycle counting, reorder points, BOMs, min/max stocking).
  • Ability to read and understand part specifications, equipment manuals, or technical data sheets.
  • Negotiation skills and vendor relationship management experience.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel) and digital record‑keeping.
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, or a related field or 2+ years of experience in MRO / Crib Attendant Role(s).
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as UpKeep, including managing parts, work orders, and asset records.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, move and/or carry up to 25lbs.
  • Ability to frequently reach overhead.
  • Ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel.
  • Requires wearing PPE (Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cutting Glove and sleeve).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SAP ERP system is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure MRO materials, tools, equipment, and services to support maintenance and plant operations.
  • Create, manage, and track purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) within SAP.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Maintain approved supplier lists and develop relationships to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Expedite orders, resolve discrepancies, and work closely with Accounts Payable on invoice/PO issues.
  • Monitor consumption trends and adjust reorder points as appropriate.
  • Maintain proper stocking levels for tools, spare parts, consumables, PPE, and critical inventory items.
  • Perform daily crib operations including issuing, receiving, labeling, and organizing materials.
  • Conduct cycle counts and support full inventory audits to ensure accuracy in UpKeep.
  • Oversee tool checkout/check‑in process and coordinate repairs, calibration, or replacement.
  • Ensure safe, organized, and ergonomic crib layout and storage practices.
  • Enter, update, and maintain part records, BOMs, locations, and inventory data in UpKeep.
  • Link parts to maintenance work orders and ensure accurate cost tracking for labor and materials.
  • Analyze consumption, usage patterns, and equipment parts history to support reliability initiatives.
  • Support maintenance planning by ensuring lead times and critical spares are properly documented.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, delivery delays, or cost‑saving opportunities to appropriate teams.
  • Participate in maintenance planning meetings and cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Support onboarding or training of employees on crib procedures and system usage.
