About The Position

As an MRO Buyer, you will be responsible for releasing purchase orders to suppliers via the ERP system in a timely manner, in accordance with lead times, while monitoring delivery schedules. You will work closely with master scheduling and planning leadership on production build plans, ensuring forecasts are current within the business system to execute planning functions. Managing ERP exception messages and executing actions accordingly will be key components of your role.

Requirements

  • Strong ERP experience
  • 2+ years of purchasing experience
  • Experience in inventory control and management
  • SAP knowledge
  • 3+ years’ experience in material planning and/or purchasing, preferably in manufacturing
  • Knowledge in inventory management practices such as forecasting and demand management
  • Project management skills and experience with continuous improvement processes
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to navigate a changing business environment
  • Accountability for quality and timely completion of work

Responsibilities

  • Release and monitor purchase orders to suppliers through the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with master scheduling and planning leadership on production build plans.
  • Review and respond to ERP exception messages for purchase orders.
  • Coordinate purchase order execution and manage discrepant materials with suppliers.
  • Interact with material control for required material movements to support manufacturing.
  • Review inventory to determine actions on excess and obsolete components.
  • Establish production planning parameters to effectively manage inventory levels.
  • Communicate with sales on incoming orders and provide status updates.
  • Negotiate costs and payment terms with suppliers and manage supplier agreements.
  • Manage and expedite critical supply of components, compiling line of balance reports.
  • Drive and implement new product initiatives and cost-saving projects.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner.
  • Contribute to producing a quality product and comply with company policies.
