About The Position

The MRP Analyst (Planner/Scheduler) is responsible for managing production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and scheduling activities to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role uses ERP system data, analytical tools, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure materials and production capacity are aligned with customer demand. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with large datasets, and skilled in Excel and ERP systems. This position is well suited for someone looking to develop into higher-level roles in supply chain, operations planning, or materials management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, materials planning, or supply chain analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems utilizing MRP functionality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with finite scheduling models within ERP systems.
  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience.
  • Experience with inventory optimization or demand planning.
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain MRP planning parameters including lead times, safety stock, lot sizing, and reorder points.
  • Develop and maintain finite production schedules within the ERP system to optimize machine and labor capacity.
  • Analyze demand signals, forecasts, and order patterns to generate production and purchasing requirements.
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure materials and capacity are aligned with the schedule.
  • Monitor and resolve material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and production bottlenecks.
  • Perform regular analysis of inventory levels, excess/obsolete inventory, and service levels.
  • Utilize Excel tools (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis) to analyze planning data and improve decision making.
  • Generate reports and dashboards that track production performance, schedule adherence, and planning metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in planning processes, ERP utilization, and inventory management.
  • Participate in S&OP / demand planning discussions where applicable.
