About The Position

NerdsToGo Pittsburgh is seeking a highly capable MSP Systems Technician who can independently resolve client issues, support business environments, and assist with both remote and onsite IT work. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving problems, working directly with business clients, and handling a wide range of technical challenges. The technician will support managed service clients, staff augmentation engagements, and project-based work such as network deployments, workstation rollouts, office setups, and infrastructure upgrades. This is a hybrid role involving remote helpdesk support, onsite client visits, and participation in infrastructure and migration projects. The technician must be comfortable operating independently, documenting work clearly, and communicating professionally with business clients.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and Mac environments
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
  • Familiarity with Active Directory/Entra ID user management
  • Networking fundamentals including switches, routers, firewalls, and VLANs
  • Experience with VPN configuration and remote access tools
  • Understanding of endpoint security and backup solutions
  • Experience supporting business environments with multiple users
  • Ability to quickly research and resolve unfamiliar technical issues
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 3–7 years of IT support experience
  • Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses
  • Familiarity with RMM tools and ticketing platforms
  • Experience performing onsite technical support work
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Microsoft certifications or equivalent experience
  • Strong problem-solving ability and technical curiosity

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve IT support tickets for business clients
  • Provide remote technical support using professional RMM and helpdesk tools
  • Troubleshoot Windows and Mac endpoints, printers, and business applications
  • Administer Microsoft 365 environments including user management and permissions
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding users and device deployments
  • Configure and troubleshoot VPN connections and remote access tools
  • Deploy and configure business workstations and network equipment
  • Perform onsite service visits for troubleshooting, deployments, and projects
  • Assist with office setups, office relocations, and office tear-downs
  • Configure firewalls, routers, and network infrastructure
  • Assist with backup systems and disaster recovery solutions
  • Support security tools including endpoint protection and monitoring platforms
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ticket notes
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal team members
