The Position:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the development of test strategies, test plans, test environments, and reports for manual or automated testing.
• Define automation strategies, automation cases for functional, regression, and system testing of complex software and hardware systems.
• Review requirements for testability and define test data, manual and automated test strategies, with an automation first mindset
• Development, enhancement and deployment of automated functional tests, integration tests and system end-to-end tests through automation test frameworks.
• Development of manual tests to supplement automated tests.
• Integrate and maintain hardware / software test environments, including test racks.
• Execute test cases, test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts, validate results and provide first-tier triage for issues found during test execution.
• Document test results, issues found, and generate test reports.
• Collaborate with Test and Development teams to ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues found during test execution
• Reproduce, debug, isolate and report issues and verify fixes.
• Evaluate and convert manual test cases into automated test cases.
• Work closely with Development and Test teams to transform testing into a CI/CD environment.
• Position involves working at test racks in a lab environment.
The salary or hourly wage range of $31.73-$53.85 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, any other related degrees or equivalent experience.
• 0-3 years work experience.
• Demonstrated programming skills with a focus on automated test scripting on Linux. Tools include Python/Pytest, Selenium, Expect, Appium, Postman, shell scripting, HTML, JavaScript, etc.
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux OS environments. Familiarity of systems administrator capabilities and Linux shell scripting.
• Knowledge of SQL (MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases and languages.
• Good understanding of Computer Networks and Embedded Systems
• Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD pipelines, Gitlab
• Familiarity with Virtualization, Containerization, Docker Containers.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies (functional and non-functional) and testing techniques (Grey Box, Black Box, Regression, Stress).
• Familiar with software development tools such as Gitlab, Jira.
• Familiar working with Waterfall and Agile/Scrum development methodologies and environments.
• The ability to understand system-level wiring diagrams and hardware interfaces is an advantage.
• Self-motivated and self-driven.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.
• A willingness to learn new technologies, skills, processes, etc.

Benefits

• Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
