About The Position

Index Analytics, LLC, is a rapidly growing, Baltimore-based small business providing health-related consulting services to the federal government. Index Analytics is seeking a MuleSoft Developer (Mid) to support Government clients in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. Metro Area. In this role, the developer will leverage the MuleSoft integration platform to connect disparate applications, data sources, and legacy systems, enabling seamless communication and data exchange. The position will focus on designing and implementing MuleSoft integrations between legacy environments and modern platforms such as Salesforce, Databricks, and other enterprise systems.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States and able to demonstrate physical residency in the U.S. for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications: MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (Mule 4) is required, and candidates should be actively pursuing Level 2 or Architect‑level MuleSoft certifications.
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in software development, including three (3) or more years of strong, hands-on focus on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (specifically versions 4.x).
  • Proven extensive experience with Mulesoft Salesforce integrations and MuleSoft connectors (Salesforce, DB, HTTP, File, JMS, Cloud connectors).
  • Strong in RAML, DataWeave, XML/JSON, processing, error handling, event‑driven patterns.
  • Experience working in AWS environment (EC2, EKS, S3, Secrets Manager/Parameter Store, IAM, CloudWatch).
  • Hands-on with API security: OAuth 2.0 flows (client credentials, auth code), JWT, Client ID enforcement, policies (rate limiting, throttling, tokenization).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or other government agencies is a plus.
  • Copado experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build MuleSoft APIs and integrations using Mule 4, RAML, DataWeave, XML, and JSON emphasizing scalable design, reusability, complex data transformations, and end‑to-end solution delivery with minimal oversight.
  • Package, version, and deploy Mule applications as JARs with proper configuration, dependency management, and secure handling of secrets, credentials, and environment properties using encrypted or externalized storage.
  • Leverage MuleSoft connectors, API Manager policies, and authentication/authorization patterns such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Client ID enforcement to streamline development and ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards.
  • Manage end‑to‑end deployments across all environments supporting both manual and automated release processes and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with AWS self‑hosted runners; Copado experience is a plus.
  • Build and support real‑time integrations using Salesforce Platform Events, Event Bus, and CDC, ensuring reliable event processing, idempotency, and proper handling of replay IDs.
  • Collaborate with cloud and network teams to understand and implement VPC connectivity, load balancer configurations, and other infrastructure requirements necessary for robust integration operations.
  • Monitor system health through Anypoint Monitoring or external tools, tracking logs, performance metrics, worker utilization, and configuring email alerts or operational notifications for failures and key business events.
  • Implement resilient runtime patterns including robust error handling, retry logic, failover mechanisms, and high‑availability strategies while maintaining awareness of platform limits, worker sizing, rate limits, and object store constraints.
  • Integrate Mule applications with Salesforce Data Cloud and other enterprise data sources to support scalable and reliable data flows.
  • Document integration designs, flow logic, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks to support long‑term maintainability and knowledge transfer.
