About The Position
The Estimator position is responsible for preparing accurate and timely calculation costs of construction plans for flooring and countertop scopes of work. The role supports bidding, pricing, and proposal development be reviewing plans and specifications, completing takeoffs, and generating estimates that align with Company margin and pricing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural plans, specifications, and builder requirements to determine scope of work
- Perform accurate material takeoffs and quantity calculations for flooring and countertops
- Utilize Measure Square to complete digital takeoffs and measurements
- Prepare detailed estimates including material, labor, waste, and supporting documentation
- Assist in creations of bid packages, proposals, and pricing summaries for submission
- Create and maintain supporting drawings and layouts as needed (e.g. flooring layouts, countertop layouts)
- Apply waste utilization and efficiency techniques when appropriate to improve profitability
- Follow established estimating procedures, templates, and file structures
- Communicate with internal teams to clarify scope, specifications, and pricing assumptions
- Support the Project Manager and Sales with revisions, value engineering, and bid updates as needed
- Maintain organized records of estimates, plans, and supporting documentation
