About The Position

Responsible for preparing and operating x-ray equipment during diagnostic patient exams while exercising procedures safely and accurately to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis Atlantic Medical Group is a physician-led and physician-governed organization that delivers the highest quality health care, at the right place, the right price, and the right time. Atlantic Health System's radiology departments provide state-of-the-art imaging services that can accommodate a wide range of patient needs with the highest quality and safety. In fact, many of our locations meet image gently® recommendations, meaning we "child-size" radiation doses for pediatric patients. Our medical team features board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists, who specialize in breast imaging, cross-sectional imaging, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, muscular-skeletal imaging, pediatric imaging, and interventional radiology. Highly skilled technologists and registered radiology nurses provide additional expertise and support. Atlantic Health System has radiology services at Chilton, Hackettstown, Morristown, Newton and Overlook medical centers, along with Goryeb Children's Hospital and a variety of outpatient locations. Services vary by location.

Responsibilities

Prepares equipment for imaging tests, based on physicians' orders and in adherence to department safeguards and protocols to ensure quality results.
Prepares patient and performs radiology procedures.
Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques with scope of practice such as basic CPR, vital signs, visual acuity, electrocardiogram, wound care including suture set-up, orthopedic splinting, Point of Care testing, assisting with eye and ear irrigation, blood glucose checks and throat swab specimen collection and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
Maintains records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements.
Performs incidental general office duties to include; answering phone; scheduling; filing; maintaining patient records; ordering supplies.
