Lead music lesson programming for club members at assigned club locations.
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years old and a high school graduate. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
At least one year of experience as a performing/practicing musician.
Enjoys working with youth and adults.
Ability to keep youth ages 9-17 enthusiastically engaged in programming.
Highly organized with attention to detail.
Ability to relate effectively with diverse populations.
Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Must have a valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.
Responsibilities
The music teacher is responsible for assembling the semester-long curriculum syllabus according to selected instrument which includes a recital/performance at a future date.
The teacher is responsible for their own personal instrument.
Conduct 40-minute music lessons on assigned scheduled days with 10-to-20-minute breaks in-between lessons.
Conduct lessons for age groups of 9 to 12 and 13 to 17 years old with cohorts of no more than 6 members at a time. Start times will be established with club manager supervisor.
Communicates the philosophy, objectives, standards, and programs of the Boys & Girls Club, through all methods available to members, their parents, and the public.
Develops and maintains positive climate and environment with program space.
Maintains a safe, neat, and organized workspace.
Encourages emotional, social, and educational growth of individual members.
Must participate in required training courses by the Club, County, State, and/or funders.
