Varian is seeking an entry-level Installations Project Manager. In this role you will plan, coordinate and supervise the implementation of multiple Varian products with our customers. This opportunity is suitable for a candidate who is looking to develop their career in project management. We are looking to invest in someone willing to learn and grow with passion, energy and drive. An ideal candidate will bring creative ideas, critical thinking and a strong inclination for project leadership to the table. They will also possess well-developed communication skills, a structured working methodology and the ability to collaborate across functions of the company, customers and third parties.

Requirements

  • Familiar with project management and project management tools
  • Fundamental understanding of products in the scope of projects assigned
  • Ability to follow/execute a project plan from initiation to completion
  • Desire/Openness to travel as needed for projects and learning opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic negotiating and conflict management skills
  • Structured working methodology
  • Strong customer service acumen
  • Willingness to take feedback, learn and grow in this role to develop project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates and supervises the implementation of Varian products with our customers, contractors, and Varian internal stakeholders
  • Works on single-product projects of diverse scopes and dependencies
  • Performs routine project management tasks to ensure customer compliance with technical requirements for equipment implementation and minor upgrades
  • Manages many projects concurrently for multiple products
  • Participates and/or facilitates on-site visits and conference calls
  • Supports customers and contractors to prepare the facility for a successful and efficient implementation or upgrade of a product
  • Provides qualified input and feedback with support from subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Identifies and mitigates project risks/issues and escalates as necessary
  • Coordinates resources and equipment shipment schedules
  • Prepares reports detailing installation activities, including tight control of installation timeline/forecast
  • Provides feedback on process improvement, training, and documentation
