The Engineering Workforce Analytics Lead is a Finance role that reports into the Engineering SBU Finance organization. The role provides cross-functional support to Engineering, Human Resources, SBU Finance, and Program Management teams with the goal of driving predictable Engineering Program Execution and accurate Workforce Planning demand forecasts. The ideal candidate for this position is a detail-oriented leader who can add value in an ambiguous and undefined environment. They are a confident self-starter who can assess a problem, creatively devise solutions, and then implement without having clear direction or instructions. They will pull from their broad experience in Program Finance, FP&A, Functional Finance, and/or other relevant experience to help the SBU Engineering teams get incrementally better at Workforce Planning and Program Execution.

Requirements

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
  • Experience within Finance including FP&A, Program Finance, Functional Finance, etc.
  • Experience in large dataset analysis, developing financial models, and understanding financial baseline performance metrics.
  • Experience with financial accounting/ERP software (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience developing/influencing functional performance metrics, procedures, directives, processes, and tools.
  • Experience driving data-driven improvement initiatives with measurable results.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in an FP&A role in aerospace and defense industry
  • Experience managing investment initiatives (capital, research and development, selling).
  • Experience with overhead and expense budgets including base and allocation analysis.
  • Experience with labor forecasting, modeling and metrics.
  • Ability to create and present reports for internal / external reviews and present to VP-level senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to add value without clearly defined instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Disseminate and analyze monthly Engineering labor demand forecasts, metrics, and variance reporting for assigned Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
  • Drive monthly Engineering labor targets through Operational Workforce Planning (OWP) reviews at the Major Program, SSBU, and SBU levels.
  • Support Strategic Workforce Planning processes via AOP, LRP, Eng. Hiring Plans, and Rates.
  • Partner with SBU CFO, SBU FP&A, SBU Eng. VP, SBU Chief Engineering org., and Raytheon Eng. Disciplines to understand labor demand signals and support integration into the Engineering supply process.
  • Gather, analyze and report Chief Engineering, IPT/CPT, and Technical Director overhead budgets on both a Strategic and Operational cadence.
  • Develop and present financial information to Engineering and Finance leadership throughout the SBU and Functional org. structures.
  • Support and train Engineering teams on new workforce planning tools, processes, and policies
  • Support SBU level EACs and Engineering Proposal Reviews (EPRs) as SBU Eng. Finance Lead delegate.
  • Support, create and implement ad hoc projects to improve business execution.
