About the position

The NEF Marketing & Communication Coordinator will report to the Naperville Education Foundation's Executive Director and work closely with the entire NEF team and Board members to develop and execute our marketing strategy. This role is focused on two key objectives: Tell NEF stories, build the NEF brand and engage audiences in the community, and create and execute an integrated marketing plan in support of NEF programs, promotions and events across communication channels.

Responsibilities

  • Tell NEF stories, build the NEF brand and engage audiences in the community.
  • Create and execute an integrated marketing plan in support of NEF programs, promotions and events across communication channels.
  • Create, update and deliver relevant and engaging content across multiple communication channels to expand visibility in the community.
  • Partner with schools, D203 staff, Home & School, HURRAH volunteers to coordinate school visits and promote NEF programs.
  • Collect stories of NEF impact and observe NEF funds in action.
  • Strategically manage and measure social media presence and website metrics.
  • Represent NEF at school/community/alumni and NEF special events.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with the NEF team to manage annual projects and events.
  • Collaborate with the NEF team, Board of Trustees and outside vendors to produce marketing and communication materials.
  • Manage creation of annual report, brochures, flyers, invitations and event scripts.
  • Develop and execute marketing plan for our annual fundraising events.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated computer and software skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, social media marketing, Hootsuite, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, Canva Pro and website management.
  • 1-2 years of communication and/or marketing experience or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak and write persuasively about NEF.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and seek out innovative ideas.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Strong team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Nonprofit marketing/communication experience is a plus.
  • Photography and video content proficiency is a plus.
