While NovaSource is headquartered in Phoenix, AZ and preference will be given to those in the area, this position can be based anywhere in the United States for experienced candidates. NovaSource is hiring a Compliance Analyst who will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and tactical execution necessary to maintain ongoing compliance with applicable standards and requirements. The focus of this role will be on Generator Owner-specific requirements as well as the various state public utility commission requirements. This position is a key member of the Legal and Compliance team within NovaSource.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of NERC 693 & CIP standards/requirements applicable to Generator Owners
  • Functional understanding of the various state public utility compliance requirements
  • Agility in managing, prioritizing and executing on multiple priorities depending on the needs of the business
  • Understanding of grid operations
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision and ability to collaborate with cross-functional leads and teams
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred; however, will consider those with a high school diploma and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of managing projects and/or people

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and guidance on regulatory compliance to the organization.
  • Assist in the continued assessment and improvement of the enterprise NERC compliance program.
  • Lead the development of a Generator Owner compliance service offering.
  • Coordinate proactive development and updates to policies and procedures based on internal process and/or regulatory changes.
  • Facilitate and periodically review recordkeeping of evidence to help ensure continued compliance and proactively identify instances of potential non-compliance.
  • Provides technical advice and assistance on the interpretations of Reliability Standards.
  • Participate in the development, update, and delivery of enterprise compliance training.
  • Perform periodic spot checks of applicable standards and controls to ensure continued compliance.
  • Participate in the evaluation of potential compliance concerns.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with industry peers, regional entities and internal stakeholders to share information and stay abreast of the ever-changing NERC and public utility commission compliance landscape.
  • Serve as a liaison between NovaSource and the regulatory bodies for NERC compliance. This includes participating in the development of new standards, changes to existing standards, and the communication of changes to the impacted NovaSource teams.
  • Reviews correspondence from regulatory and coordinates responses with appropriate stakeholders.
