Government experience is an absolute must. This client is only considering candidates who already reside in the New York City area. This position is onsite in New York City and is a multi-year engagement. Client is responsible for managing how contractors and utility companies apply for permits when they do work on roadways, sidewalks, and highways. This drives the need for a senior application developer to design, develop and deploy modern, web-based accessible systems that have a secure client-facing interface plus a back-office system for managers to review, edit, charge, approve or deny permits or licenses, determine if the client is selecting the right type of permit or license to meet their needs, assign an employee to inspect the location to determine if the permit and license request is accurate and ensure they are system features that allow client and the contractors and restaurants to have bi-directional communication within the system and exchange necessary city / stare / federal / insurance documents. These systems also contain features that minimize the amount of construction conflicts that occur since contractors, utility companies and other agencies can all be working on the same street at the same time. Client managers also need system features that will allow them to determine the location of an asset, determine the last time the asset was inspected, is a new inspection required, assign crews to repair / replace / reconstruct the asset and select which materials, vehicles and equipment will be used to ensure the asset is always in a state-of good-repair to ensure a safe environment for all of City's pedestrians, bicyclist and drivers. All of these systems will require online maps built within each application along with security features to ensure compliance with cyber security policies.
