About The Position

The Network Administrator supports the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role assists senior network engineers with daily operational tasks, ensures network uptime, and provides Tier 1–2 support for switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and routing issues. Ideal for early‑career IT professionals looking to grow into a full network admin role.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in IT, Networking, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLANs, routing & switching).
  • Familiarity with enterprise switches (Cisco, HP/Aruba, Dell, etc.).
  • Experience with Windows networking environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic connectivity problems.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA Network+ (or in progress).
  • CCNA or equivalent beginner-level certification.
  • Experience with Wi‑Fi management systems (Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, etc.).
  • Exposure to firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, SonicWall, etc.).
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT environments a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Network Operations & Maintenance Monitor network performance, availability, and health using standard monitoring tools.
  • Assist with configuration, deployment, and documentation of switches, access points, routers, and firewalls.
  • Perform basic switch port configuration, VLAN assignments, and network patching.
  • Support network backups, configuration management, and firmware updates.
  • Troubleshooting & Support Respond to network-related tickets and escalate complex issues to senior staff.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues (wired/wireless, DHCP, DNS, VPN).
  • Assist in diagnosing latency, packet loss, and throughput issues.
  • Provide support for voice-over-IP (VoIP) systems and telephony equipment.
  • Security & Compliance Assist in monitoring network security alerts and applying security best practices.
  • Support firewall rule updates under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, including HIPAA and industry security standards.
  • Documentation & Inventory Maintain accurate documentation: network diagrams, port maps, IP address assignments, and configuration records.
  • Track network equipment inventory and support lifecycle management.
  • Collaboration Work closely with Systems Administrators, Help Desk, and Security teams.
  • Assist during maintenance windows, upgrades, and planned outages.
