About The Position

GCyber is seeking a Network Administrator, to support our U.S. Coast Guard customer. The Network Administrator will be a key member of the Information Technology Operations Center and will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing network systems to support continuous operations and mission-critical activities. This position is a Front End Nights shift position, working 6:45pm – 7:00am, Sunday-Tuesday with rotating Wednesdays. This position is on site in Kearneysville, WV. As a Network Administrator, you will: Configure and manage a variety of network devices, including routers and switches. Utilize advanced network monitoring and analysis tools such as Wireshark and SolarWinds to proactively monitor performance, identify potential issues, and ensure rapid resolution. Implement and enforce stringent network security protocols and industry best practices to protect sensitive data and systems. Conduct in depth troubleshooting for complex network issues related to TCP/IP protocols, VLAN management, and routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF). Collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of network services and overall operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • IAT II certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA-Security, CND, GICSP, GSEC, and SSCP)
  • Proficiency configuring and managing network devices such as routers and switches.
  • Strong foundational understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN management, and essential routing/switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark and SolarWinds.
  • Solid understanding of network security protocols and best practices.
  • Ability to succeed in demanding 24/7 operational environment, including availability for shift work.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional networking certification preferred (Network+, CCNA, or CCNP)
  • Experience maintaining enterprise networks and datacenter environments preferred.
