American Heritage Credit Union, a $5+ billion credit union, has an immediate opening for a Network Administrator. This position will keep the network computing systems operating efficiently and ensure computing standards are implemented and enforced; extend I.S. support services to staff and members. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Design, specify, configure, install, and maintain local area network/wide area network to include personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, and internet service providers. Participate in member conversions by doing the following: Communicating directly with users and servicers in gathering requirements information; Explaining technical requirements for files and data communications; Coordinating on-site testing of data communication and software customization. Develop and test data communications procedures for links to members and data servicers. Develop and test interface file handling procedures for data moving between platforms, members, and media. Coordinate with other I.S. technical support staff to ensure appropriate I.S. computing standards are implemented and maintained. Manage software upgrades to ensure compliance with standards and control procedures. Collaborate with I.S. network systems staff to support the following computing components: PC/LAN servers and workstations; WAN communications links; Hot-site hardware/software; Office automation software. Assist I.S. programming staff in on-site research of production problems and training of supervisory staff on new procedures/software. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup. Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories, and security. Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs. Implement standards for use, operations, and security of network and data. Research and evaluate new technologies and consult with computer operations management, supervisory staff, and various I.S. personnel to ensure I.S. standard for control, security, and recoverability are understood and followed. Monitor and maintain network stability. Implement network schedule for backups and system maintenance. Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations. Install and maintain various servers. Provides networking assistance to users, including assistance with network connections and passwords, and provide resolutions while taking schedules and deadlines into consideration. Monitor network traffic and make necessary recommendations for additional resources or hardware. Implement data and computer security policies and procedures. Coordinate installation of security software.
