About The Position

DEPARTMENT: Information and Educational Technology Services POSITION TITLE: Network Analyst SUPERVISOR: Director of IT Operations and Support, IET Services RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide day‑to-day support within the IT Help Desk, serving as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and students seeking technical assistance. Act as the main IT liaison for physical security systems, coordinating technology support related to access control, camera systems, and other security‑related platforms. Troubleshoot, document, and resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues; escalate complex problems as appropriate. Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in diagnosing and resolving issues with University software systems and third‑party applications. Analyze and assess existing business systems, workflows, and procedures to identify inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement. Assist with testing, implementation, and support of new or updated systems, software releases, and technology solutions. Maintain accurate documentation, including incident records, system configurations, procedures, and knowledge base articles. Provide user training and guidance on IT systems, tools, and best practices as needed. Follow established IT policies, security standards, and compliance requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support IT operations and University objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or a minimum of five (5) years experience in the field.
  • Experience working in an IT support, help desk, or operations role.
  • Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical users.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting IT systems in a higher‑education or public‑sector education environment.
  • Familiarity with physical security systems (e.g., access control, video management systems).
  • Knowledge of IT service management practices (e.g., ticketing systems, ITIL concepts).
