Provides assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks; Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents; Implements communication system requirements to support the distributed functionality of a software engineering environment; Analyzes network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput), troubleshoots problems and
recommends procurement of and/or modifications to network components.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Requirements

• TS/SCI with agency appropriate polygraph
• Twelve (12) years’ experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Certifications: An IAT level III baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required.
• Minimum of 3 years as a Network Engineer.
• Proficient with Linux.
• Security+ certification.

Nice To Haves

• Linux system administration experience is a plus.
• CCNA or CCNP certification is a plus.
• Should have working knowledge, able to use and or support, with some (preferably most) of the following resources and tools.
• Juniper and Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
• Palo Alto firewalls
• Linux servers
• Experience with patching and upgrading Linux servers and networking resources.
• Ansible or SALT scripts

Responsibilities

• Perform Network Engineering tasks and functions
• Develop, plan, and implement scalable network solutions, new network layouts, and upgrades.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including firewall rules, access controls, and security protocols to protect data.
• Resolve network issues.
• Monitor network health, analyze traffic patterns, and improve visibility through metrics and alerting.
• Create and maintain network documentation, policies, and procedures
