Performs installation and maintenance of network devices including the restoration of hardware and software. Works with end users, Team Members and vendors to resolve network hardware and software issues. May employ tools to achieve high availability and efficient utilization of LAN/WAN. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Performs work under supervision. Handles basic issues and problems, but refers more complex issues to higher-level Team Members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems management, information systems, or a related field, and/or applicable technical certificate and/or equivalent related experience.
  • Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
  • Beginning to working knowledge of current and emerging networking technologies including but not limited to TCP/IP networking and LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years' of prior experience in IT related discipline.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

Responsibilities

  • Follows direction to perform maintenance of network devices including the restoration of hardware and software.
  • Follow directions on how to conduct research and evaluate network technology.
  • Works with end users, Team Members and vendors to resolve network hardware and software issues.
  • Installs, supports and tests Local and Wide Area Networks.
  • Supports Infrastructure including: switches, routers, wireless, and firewalls.
  • May administer end-user training to achieve efficient utilization of LAN/WAN.
  • Responds to and resolves help desk tickets.
  • Participates in project management activities as assigned.
  • Participates in Network Team On-Call program.
  • Adheres to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.
