About The Position

Oneida Technology Services (OTS) Group has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer - Journeyman in Columbus, MS at the Columbus AFB. Key Responsibilities: Serves as a multi-disciplined network engineer with experience across wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions. Implements requirements and assists in developing network designs and network topology artifacts. Supports development of configurations and implementations of data networks based on customer performance requirements and specifications. Conducts site surveys and network assessments to identify optimal hardware and software components for reliable, efficient, and secure network upgrades. Supports preliminary and final SPRIP development activities. Conducts systems pre-tests and acceptance tests to validate design performance criteria. Ensures installations are completed in accordance with safety standards and site conditions, including restoring the worksite to original or better condition. Provides Post-Deployment Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) Training to O&M teams for seamless network system transition. Demonstrates extensive experience with routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. Supports cybersecurity artifacts including topology/data flow diagrams, hardware/software inventories, STIG checklists, ports/protocols/services lists, and POA&Ms. Contributes to the design and implementation of secure networks, systems, and application architectures. Supports network management tools and methods such as SNMP, SYSLOG, and orchestration platforms. Supports LOM processes to capture all major components and installation materials for successful systems deployment. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics when applicable. Ensures all network solutions comply with relevant Department of the Air Force (DAF) policies and other established IT system integration requirements. Assists the O&M team with troubleshooting network-related issues following deployment. Gathers and analyzes system requirements to design secure, scalable network solutions. Coordinates with local Communication Squadrons and/or regional cybersecurity teams during configuration, activation, and cutover of new deployments. Provides ongoing support in resolving network issues after deployment to ensure continuity and performance.

Requirements

  • Technical BA/BS degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer on large, complex programs; OR High school diploma or associate degree with a minimum of 7 years performing as a Network Engineer on large, complex programs.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and customer stakeholders.
  • CCNA or equivalent
  • CompTIA Security+ required.
  • 8570 is required
  • DoD Security clearance required
