About The Position

Overview of Role: The Network Engineer (Senior) provides advanced Tier 3 and Tier 4 network engineering support for Department of Defense installation networks, including NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments. Key duties include troubleshooting and resolving complex network incidents, monitoring network performance with enterprise management platforms, and managing the operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning of transport network equipment and cabling infrastructure. The role also includes conducting pre-implementation testing, maintaining network performance metrics, supporting network baseline data collection and device catalog compilation, overseeing NOC shift scheduling, ensuring SLA compliance, and providing 24/7 on-call support with on-site response capability.

Requirements

Over 10 years’ experience and a M.A./MS degree.
CCNP or equivalent
Tier 3/4 troubleshooting
NMS experience (SolarWinds, Cisco Prime)
NIPR/SIPR
Must have an Active Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

Python/SQL or NMS data processing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provides advanced Tier 3 and Tier 4 network engineering support for DoD installation networks, including NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex network incidents
Monitors network performance using enterprise NMS platforms including SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Juniper JSpace, and NetScout nPoints
Manages operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning of transport network equipment and cabling infrastructure
Performs pre-implementation testing in an integrated test environment
Maintains throughput, error, latency, and packet loss performance metrics
Provides 24/7 on-call support with on-site response capability at assigned installations.
Network baseline data collection, device catalog compilation, NMS performance extraction for design phase inputs.
NOC shift scheduling and staffing oversight
SLA compliance reporting
